I prepared myself for the day that this would happen.
The day Wyatt would get his first haircut.
And I thought I was ready, I thought I could handle it.
But now I know why parent’s take their kids to have someone else cut their hair.
Now I know.
I made sure the camera was charged, and gave it to William.
I got out the scissors and Wyatt’s yellow comb.
His hair was wet, everything was ready.
But as soon as I started figuring out exactly where to make the first snip –
Butterflies stirred inside me.
I began to get very nervous.
Wyatt was calm as could be – and didn’t mind me messing with his hair.
It was me, all me.
I couldn’t do it.
I couldn’t let go of his hair.. yet.
Maybe when he turns 2…..
LONG LIVE THE CURLS!
Other momma’s out there –
Please share your child’s first haircut story!
How did YOU feel?
My 15 month old has had 2 small trims, but I always cut her bangs. It was so hard! I saved her first snip.
Awe, that must have been so hard! I just couldn’t cut Wyatt’s hair – I chickened out at the last minute! lol
Awww I am dreading David’s first haircut!! Thanks for sharing, now I don’t feel so weird lol I don’t want to cut it yet ๐
No, you made me feel SO much better by telling me you’re scared too! It’s terrifying!
My son’s hair is halfway down his back….. I still can’t bring myself to cut it. He’s 2 1/2!
Thank you SO much for saying this!! You make me feel so much better!!!
Aww! He is so adorable, even if his hair is a little bit shorter now ๐
