Hi friends!
Today I’m going to share a fun Disney Planes Art Activity with you! Wyatt and I had SO much fun crafting this together and I just can’t wait to show you how we made it! One of Wyatt’s favorite movies right now is the Planes movie – he loves the action, the colors, and most importantly – the characters. The main character Dusty shows us that it’s okay to be different – and even if you are, you can accomplish whatever you dream. This message is so important. Not only because it’s encouraging and inspiring, but also because it’s true and needs to be heard by all.
Blade Ranger is Wyatt’s favorite character, he’s from the Fire and Rescue movie. And for some reason, Wyatt calls him “beans”. Last summer we bought Wyatt a Blade Ranger toy from Walmart. He loved it and carried it everywhere, and then the dog got ahold of it – and it ended up in the garbage. So when we went in search for fun art supplies for this tutorial, we picked up another one at Walmart for inspiration.
Wyatt was so excited to see his old friend again. And we couldn’t wait to start our craft!
For this project you’ll need:
- Canvas
- Washable Paint / Paintbrushes
- Multi-colored foam sheets
- Multi-colored craft sticks
- Glue
- Scissors
- Sharpie
First, set up your canvas and draw and cut out the shape of Blade Ranger for your little one. Cut out windows and trim, get creative – it’s fun!
Then, help your little one peel off the backing of the foam sheet and place them on the canvas (this was Wyatt’s favorite part!).
Help them to place the windows and trimming onto the body. Let them pick two craft sticks to glue on as the “blades” and then let them paint blue clouds and green grass! Or, in our case blue/green grass ๐ When they’re finished use a sharpie to draw eyes and add any additional details.
Do you want to have a Planes craft day?
Make sure to check out the following items at Walmart on Rollback for inspiration:
- Disney Planes Flight to the Finish Speedway Rollback to $24.97
- Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Die-Cast Vehicles 3-Pack Rollback to $14.97
- Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Deluxe Talking Vehicle Assortment Rollback to $19.97

This is such an awesome idea! I feel bad that it’s something super easy-to-do and why didn’t I ever think about it? Lol. A bunch of my cousins are staying with my family over the holidays and I’ll make sure we do this as a family activity.
Isn’t it fun to sit down with the kids and make projects like this one? I love that you used the foam to make it thicker than just traditional paper.
