Playroom

Hi, friends!

Hope you’re having a great day so far! As you may know, we purchased our first home back in December and officially moved in right before Christmas. One of my favorite things about this house was the formal dining space, not because we were going to actually use it for formal dining, but because it was the perfect space for a playroom!

Here is the space before we moved into the home:

I love that it has a BIG window because it brings in lots of natural light and it’s great for when the boys want to take a peek outside to see what the weather is like, or just to spy on the neighbors ๐Ÿ˜‰

And here’s a peak at our playroom now:

Most of the items pictured were moved over from our old house. The only thing that is new is the Lego table I made (more on that later!) and the gorgeous area rug that fills the space. I started browsing online and fell in love with the Tempe Diamond Sand Cream Rectangular rug from Mohawk Home. I loved that it was neutral, plush, and felt like the perfect fit for our boy’s playroom. We’ve owned (and still own) many Mohawk rugs, so I know the quality and durability is amazing.

I wanted the whole playroom to feel fun, and I think we’ve definitely accomplished that!

The boys are constantly snuggling up on the rug. Wyatt pulls all of the pillows off of the couch, grabs his blanket and lovies, and sets up camp right in the middle of the rug. Seriously, this happens at least once a day around here. And did I mention the rug is super-easy to clean? My kiddos are messy, and we also have two cats and two dogs, but I’m telling you — not a problem. This rug (and every other Mohawk Rug i’ve ever owned) clean up perfectly.

Our Playroom Rug Checklist:

  • Easy to clean (because we all know it’s going to encounter spills and messes)
  • Soft, comfortable (for cozy book reading and playing!)
  • Durable, can withstand lots of playtime
  • Fits the decor of the room

This rug is so plush, I wish you could feel it! Here is Wyatt and his bunny “sleeping” on the rug ๐Ÿ™‚

So, that’s it — there is our playroom! It’s far from done, but we’re slowly adding things in, moving them around, and finding out a way to make the area work the best for our family. I’d love to replace the couch, add in more wall decor, and figure out more organization (the storage ottoman under the window has been a life-saver).
