It’s not something I talk about a whole lot on the blog – but William and I are both college students! William is just finishing up his Masters and going on to get his doctorate and I am still working on my Bachelor’s (currently taking a short break to have baby #2). And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that going to school is EXPENSIVE, and we are always looking for new ways that we can save some money and lower the amount we spend on our education.
A huge part of the money needed goes to books and if you purchase books from the book store at your school – chances are you’ll only get a small fraction of what you paid at the end of the semester. And that just doesn’t work for us.
Benefits of Renting Textbooks from Campus Book Rentals:
-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
-we donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented
It’s amazing the amount of money that gets donated to Operation Smile from Campus Book Rentals, this is definitely something that they don’t have to do – but choose to do out of the goodness of their hearts. It really shows me just what kind of company they are.
Campus Book Rentals also has a new initiative called RentBack where students can go to rent the textbooks that they own too! This is a pretty cool feature because it allows the students to make up to 2-4 times more money compared to what they’d back with the buyback option. This means more money in the student’s pocket – which is always a good thing!
So, to summarize:
- You get your books.
- You help out Operation Smile.
- And – you SAVE money!
I’m going to tell my sister about this. I doubt she’ll care since she graduates in December and already has her books for this semester but this would’ve been nice to know about forever ago! So cool!
It just seems like you’ll save so much more $$ doing it this way! ๐
I wish they had this when I was in grad school, I spent WAY too much on books!

Oh, I hear ya – books are crazy expensive! I wish something like this existed years ago when I first started too!
Oh yes! I ALWAYS rented me gen-ed text books. It saved me so much money… I loved it!
