Hey, folks!
Who’s ready for an awesome trail mix recipe AND some printable coupons so you can create it and save big?! Awesome! Okay, so first let me tell you a little back story. Lately, Wyatt (we call him “bear“) has been super-helpful around the house. He wants to help me with any/everything that I do. He helps rotate laundry, helps feed the dog, etc. Well I have been snacking on Trail Mix a lot lately, so I asked if he wanted to help me make some. He didn’t say a word, just came over and sat down beside me checking out the ingredients.
I picked up the following ingredients at Walmart and used printable coupons to help with the cost. There are currently some great high-value coupons out (I’ll put a link at the bottom of the post).
We got:
- Jet-Puffed Marshmallows
- Rasins
- Planters Peanuts
- Hershey’s Chocolate Chips
Wyatt was SO excited to help. I just opened the ingredients and set a container in front of him, stuck a chalkboard label on it, and watched as he layered each item. It turned out to be a great sensory activity for us to do together. He got to feel many different textures and listen as the ingredients fell. And it gave him a sense of pride – he just loves helping out and I love seeing that look on his face when he completes a task. SUCH a sweetheart.
When he was done adding the ingredients it looked like this:

Yummy and what a great little helper you have there.
Oh Yum!! Wish I could eat that trail mix. I have to make mine out of things that don’t contain sugar. No Fun!!
I don’t usually eat trail mix since they usually contain nuts and I’m allergic but I never thought of making my own. My toddler would really love ones containing marshmallows.
This looks and sounds delicious, yum!
