Soft Toy IMage 2015_4Hi all!

If you know me, you know I love me some IKEA.We actually go there quite a bit for things we need around the house, and it is so much fun to browse and get inspired by the displays!

Right now for every soft toy and children’s book sold between November 9, 2014 and January 3, 2015, the IKEA Foundation will donate $1 to children’s education through UNICEF and Save the Children. Education is such a key piece to helping these children flourish and thrive to build better futures and to follow their dreams.

Last year, the IKEA Foundation raised $13.6 million (10.1 million euro) and over $1 million was raised in the US. Just imagine how much good that money did to help little ones! The donations will go directly to assist UNICEF and Save the Children train teachers to practice child-friendly teaching methods, improve child protection systems, supply educational materials in the schools, help rebuild schools, provide better water and toilet facilities, and increase school attendance rates.

We were so inspired – we decided to head to IKEA to help support this amazing campaign. Each one of my boys picked out a new soft toy, and they also got one to donate to a bin at our IKEA

It was such a great way to help instill the message of giving back to my little ones. There were fun signs all around our store about the promotion. Wyatt loved putting the small dog plush that we bought into the donate bin as well. Wyatt ended up picking out a brown bear and Levi got a labrador puppy (that looks just like our dog). Right now, as I type – both boys are tucked away sweetly in their beds with their new soft toys.

So, if you’ve got an IKEA near by PLEASE make sure you stop by and help support this amazing promotion for IKEA‘s Soft Toys for Education! We’ve seen first hand how wonderful a good education can be, I couldn’t be more thankful for the caring teacher and teachers assistants that help Wyatt each and every day!

Every little one deserves an education. Let’s help bring that dream to life!
