And that’s just a little bit of what we’ve been up to. In a previous post I had told you that I would be working two jobs from home. First, I feel so incredibly lucky that I have the chance to stay at home with my little man during the day and work at night when daddy gets home. But, it’s been hard to have that quality family time that we love so much. The first few weeks of me working have definitely been an adjustment period and now we are in more of a groove. We make more of an effort to plan fun family things to do – like going to the zoo – park – or library.
But in all of this madness of adjusting schedules and such I’ve completely fallen off the weight loss wagon. I’ve gained most of it back (except for 5 lbs). But I feel terrible about that. I should never have let that happen. But, I admit it’s completely my fault. I started eating terrible again and justified it by saying it was easier to grab and eat instead of plan and eat (hence the McDonald’s photo).
William and I sat down to talk about it yesterday and we’ve developed a better plan to keep us on track. I am going to start running at night – I have missed that so much. I guess it is really all about scheduling. We now have to schedule everything. Our whole day. But it needs to be done, so we can live the life that we want to live.
A life filled with family time, good health, and time for us just as a couple.
I have been dreading writing this post because I didn’t want to admit to myself (or you) that I had gotten off track with my weight loss. I was feeling so great. But, I’m ready to get back on track. I’m ready to start making the time to plan our meals and times that I can exercise.
Do you schedule your days?
Have a particular planning system that works for you?
Please share your tips in the comments!
I’d love to hear them!

Oh Kendall I so appreciate your transparency! YOU CAN DO IT!! It seriously is all about scheduling it into your day, and making it a priority!! I’ll try to get my new scheduling system posted soon so you can see how I’ve been trying to do this – totally not perfected but I’m trying too!!
That would be great! Thank you so much for your support. I was going to shoot you a message about the meals i’ve seen via instagram! Let’s weight loss chat soon! Email me an tell me all about it! xo
Cute pictures Kendall! That’s great you get to work at home. Scheduling is really hard! It’s a struggle me to balance everything. I like the idea about a system or chart that you can put up in the house, and of course, agreeing on roles between you and William is key—divide and conquer!
In terms of weight-loss, I keep on track by grocery shopping for at least a week-and-a-half (so no spontaneous trips or chances to impulse buy) worth of food at a time and NO unhealthy snacks. So, my options for making myself lunch at home or a quick snack are only fresh and healthy. Then, once a month, I allow myself to buy several sweets at the store to keep in the house as a reward ๐
Hi Devon – thank you so much for your comment! Scheduling is hard! It seems like there just arent enough hours in the day! I am working really hard during the week so I can hopefully have weekends off to spend time with the family. Chore charts are going to come in handy! Thanks for the weight loss tips – I am going to start pre-planning for the week ahead, and really stick to it. xo
i fall off and on the weight loss wagon like it was a happy train to mcdonalds. admitting that you’ve fallen off is the first step. you’re gonna do awesome! and i’m right there with ya. ๐
