Wyatt’s room is my favorite place in the house.
It’s full of his drawings, toys, and many places to be creative.
I love watching him play with all of his favorite things.

Each day we play in his room – and often times he will get up to close his door – so we can have some privacy from the cats. Only momma + Wyatt allowed. One thing I have noticed lately is how organized Wyatt likes to be. He has separate containers for each type of toy – and he never mixes them up. He knows that the foam blocks go here, and the wooden blocks go there. It’s pretty impressive to me that he actually keeps them in order. Wyatt got the big red toy bin for Christmas and it’s awesome to just scoop up the remaining toys and dump them in. I used to try and pick up his room several times a day – but it became exhausting. So now we just do a clean sweep together before bedtime and that is way easier.

One of my biggest struggles with being a mother is letting go. I have to let him do things on his own and I can’t control everything. I don’t want to be a parent that hovers over him – I have to let him learn on his own and be independent. Sometimes I find it hard to not help him do things. But this is what his space is for – to learn, practice, play, and just have fun.

Do you have difficulty just letting your child be?
