Since October is pet adoption month, I wanted to spread the word about how Pedigree Dog Food is helping to give back to shelter dogs in need. When you purchase a bag of Pedigree dog food at Sam’s Club this month they will donate a bowl of food to a shelter in need. How cool is that?
So yesterday the boys and I headed over to Sam’s Club and picked up a huge 55lb bag of Pedigree Adult Dry Dog Food. And because our little Emma is still considered a pup (even though she’s the size of a pony) we decided to donate the dog food to a local shelter! We loaded up the car and drove out to Southfield to donate the food. I made sure to explain to the boys why we were going and what we were doing. I love sharing experiences like this with them because I want them both to have giving hearts. Blogging has allowed us to give back in so many ways and I am so grateful for that.
The folks at the shelter were so grateful for our donation. And it felt good to know that not only were we providing a 55lb bag of dog food, but Sam’s Club and Pedigree were also going to be donating on our behalf just for purchasing!
I’ve always had a soft spot for animals. Both of our kitties were from the Detroit Humane Society, and we just love them so much. And our pup, Emma is just such a blessing. We got her when I was still pregnant with Levi so they’ve all kind of grown up together. Just look how cute she was as a baby!
And here she is now:
So, long story short – you can help shelter dogs in need this month just by purchasing your Pedigree dog food from Sam’s Club! So go ahead and bring your muscle and stock up!

Do you have a dog? Did you adopt from a shelter?
Aw, I love that they’re donating to shelters when you buy your pet food. That is really awesome. I am always SO sad when I see the TV commercials or posts on the internet about all the poor animals in shelters ๐ Glad there is an easy way to help!
How lovely of you to donate the dog food to a local dog shelter, so kind of you.
She is so precious and what an amazing idea! Ive never thought to donate food to shelters, but they must need a ton of chow!

What a great experience for your kids to participate in! I hope to able to incorporate service into our lives in a way my kids understand as they get older. They don’t understand monetary donations so things like dropping off dog food are great ideas!
Your dog is gorgeous! This is an awesome program that Pedigree has going on right now!
does it have to be dog food? I only have cats ๐
How cool is that? I had no idea about that until I read your post! Thanks for sharing this info with me, I will pass the word! Your dog is adorable btw ๐
Pedigree was the type of dog food my parents bought our family dogs, growing up. Now that my husband & I have one of our own – we feed our little guy more healthier stuff (high protien, no fillers, no corn etc).
Aw, I love that they are donating food for purchasing a bag of food. Every pup needs love! <3
Wow- such a great cause that you wouldn’t think to donate to- thanks for raising awareness!
That is really cool! I wish we had a Sam’s Club nearby! Good info though, thanks for sharing!
Aw, such a cutie! Thanks for sharing!
Such a great way to give back! And they make it so easy! ๐ PS. Your pup is so stinkin cute!
That’s awesome that you do this! I’m sure it’s so appreciated
Emma is so cute! Great that they are giving back!
Aw, your pup is so grown up. I love that you’re donating to the shelter. We take our old blankets in sometimes when they need them.
What a cool thing to give back. Our furry friends need to be taken care of too.
Your furbaby is too cute! I love that Sam’s Club and Pedigree are giveaway a bag of food!
It’s so awesome that they’re doing this! When my dogs were puppies, I bought their bags of food from sams. I haven’t in a while but I’ll to check it out this month!
It’s so easy to purchase an extra bag of Pedigree to donate to our local shelters. We should all start doing that. #client
Love this!! I usually just give them all my coupon mailers that come in because I don’t have any pets and I figure they could use it
We don’t have a dog, but all our family that does adopted theirs through a shelter. Win win for everyone! Great post!
Awhh!! What a cute pup you have! I volunteer at the arizona humane society (: so fun! And my husband and I are having a baby in January and we want a dog too so they can grow up together…. I’m thinking after I’ve got the hang of being a mom though. How did it work out?
How lovely of you to donate the dog food to a local dog shelter, I regular donate to the local food bank ๐
What a wonderful cause! I love that you can give back with your purchase.
Love the before/after pics of your dog! Great story.
Awe, thank you! ๐
Now, that is a great cause. We don’t have a dog, although every dog the kids pass they ask if they can have one. I am just not there yet. Not that I have anything against dogs, I just have everything against being the only one in the family that has the responsibilities.
