Disclosure: A huge thanks to Sea Life for sponsoring today’s post.
Hi friends!
I am so excited about today’s post! Today we’re going to be talking about the new Sea Life Michigan Aquarium AND I’ll be giving away some tickets so you can go check it out!
SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium is opening on January 29th of this year. It’s a 35,000-square-foor aquarium that will be opening its doors inside Great Lakes Crossing Outlets in Auburn Hills! This will be the 7th SEA LIFE location in the US and 42nd in the world.
SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium will allow you and your little ones to get nose to nose with more than 5,000 amazing creatures from a diverse 250 species! This is an educational, one-of-a-kind experience that just can’t be beat. Species include sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, sea horses and much, much more! SEA LIFE works to provide a glimpse of the diversity of marine life while also playing an active role in animal and environmental conservation.
The animals have been arriving to their new homes steadily over the past few weeks and will continue to do so until the grand opening. They’re busy settling in and getting comfortable now ๐
SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium will feature a 180-degree underwater ocean tunnel, interactive touch pools, a freshwater exhibit showcasing creatures from Michiganโs lakes and waterways, daily educational talks and feed shows, and a childrenโs play area.
What types of exhibits will there be?
- Shark Shipwreck, a stunning tropical display featuring sharks, puffer fish
- Coral Reef
- Stringray Bay, a lagoon featuring stingrays and eagle rays
- Sea Horse Mangrove
Families will learn all about the creatures of the sea, including their lifespans, habitats and characteristics, as well as how to take an active role in conservation and preserving the creatures and their environments.

I would like to go and take my father and kids! My kids love fish and have yet to visit an aquarium. My dad is in the process of rebuilding his large salt water fish tank in his basement and I know he would find it really inspiring to visit the SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium!! When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter we took a trip to Florida and on the way home visited the Atlanta Aquarium. I would love to compare the two! I’m really excited they built an aquarium here in Michigan!
