Operation Smile is one of those causes that just warms my heart. I love any charity that gives back and helps to improve the lives of little ones. Operation Smile provides assistance to little ones who are born with cleft lip, cleft palate, ย and other facial deformities.

According to Operation Smile’s website, “Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft lip and/or cleft palate. A baby born with a cleft has twice the odds of dying before celebrating their first birthday. The children who survive are often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places, they are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can’t afford the surgeries they need to live a productive life.” EVERY THREE MINUTES. Think about that.

These children deserve life, they deserve love, and they deserve to smile.

There are many ways you can help. From donating money, raising money, even choosing to support companies who give back to this cause. If you’re a college student (or know someone who is attending college) choosing to rent text books fromย CampusBookRentals.com or http://www.rentback.com gives back- they donate with each text-book rented. This is an easy way to help give back and make a difference just by doing something you might already do! It’s companies like these that deserve our support – companies that give a portion of their earnings to help others. It just doesn’t get kinder than that.

Have you heard of Operation Smile?

You can read some of the stories here – get some tissue, these are beautiful.
