180 LBS!! |
So, I didn’t want to write this post until I knew for a fact that I would stick to this weight loss. Because I have written a post before – and fell off track and I really didn’t want that to happen again. But this time – it’s for real folks.
A while back I saw something on my Instagram feed about a weight loss challenge called #alittletoofluffy that was headed up by the lovely Danielle @ Take Heart. So, I joined in immediately. I knew that losing weight would help our chances of conceiving – and I knew that I would feel better about myself after shedding some pounds.
Here is a little back story:
When I was pregnant with Wyatt I gained 70 lbs.
Yes, 70!
I went from being 160lbs – 230lbs.
You know how people say that when they get pregnant they are just going to eat whatever they want?
Well, that’s EXACTLY what I did.
And although having Pizza Hut multiple times a week was delicious, it wasn’t very healthy.
Wyatt was born weighing 8 lbs 9 oz – and he was a whole MONTH early.
The doctor told us that he would have been close to 11lbs if he was born on his due date.
During my pregnancy, I also developed an addiction to food.
So, now here I am – almost 20 months later – trying to lose the baby weight.
It’s definitely been difficult – and has required a lot of self control (and lean cuisines).
But I’m slowly getting back to a healthy weight.
And I couldn’t be happier about it.
I can’t wait for the day where I can write the post telling you I’m finally at my pre-pregnancy weight again! Just 20 more pounds!!
Good for you! I’m struggling with my weight! So easy to gain, so hard to lose! Good luck!
Thanks Kassie! It was SO easy to gain!! That’s the problem! I wish it was as easy to lose! ๐
Congrats on the weight loss!! I’m working down to my pre-California weight (I’ve gained almost 50 pounds since I moved west). I’m down a little over 13 pounds since Dec 31. I’m so very excited because, like you, I’ve started with the best of intentions but fell off the wagon. I am determined to make it stick this time and keep it off! It’s very encouraging to see that scale drop every week, isn’t it?!
Thank you! Congrats on your weight loss too! It’s so easy to give up and get off track – we can keep each other on track! And yes, it’s an amazing feeling to see the lbs come off! SO liberating!
Same here girlfriend. Definitely can relate. You were so cute pregnant:) I on the other hand….whew!
Awe, thanks love. I bet you were adorable!!
Giiiirrl! We need to talk ๐ – Not only have I been where you are (twice), but I’m board certified in Holistic Nutrition. If you’d like to chat, email me: [email protected]
Keep up the amazing work, Mama!
Have a beautiful weekend!
Best,
Carris
Thanks lovely! I might take you up on that! I could definitely use some tips and you look fantastic!! ๐ xo.
Way to go girl!! You’re doing it!!!!
Thank you!! I am! I am!
Great job! How are you doing it? When I was pregnant the first time 8 years ago I quit smoking and started eating. I’m proud to say that I’ve never smoked again but I haven’t stopped eating. I have a definite addiction to food and woyld love to hear some tips on kicking it.
Oh, yeah. I quit smoking when we first started trying so that had a lot to do with the food addiction. It just replaced smoking. And it’s so hard to now quit eating! I know where you are – just keep your fridge stocked with fruits and veggies – I eat lean cuisines and add in extra veggies to them!
Congratulations, that is so awesome!!! Fifteen pounds is a lot! ๐
Thank you Olivia! I am so excited! Your support means so much! ๐
Oh I know how crazy pregnancy weight is and then it’s almost as though it’s harder to get your portions under control… thanks for the inspiration friend, xoxo
Thank you for the sweet comment! You are seriously such an amazing person and I am so glad we “met”! ๐
You go girl! That is totally awesome!
Thanks Melissa! ๐
You should be so proud of yourself! It is so hard to lose weight. My doctor told me I need to lose at least 40 lbs to be in the healthy zone. I am going to try! It is just so easy to gain! I am 42 so a lot of it is my hormones changing, but it is also just being lazy and not working out like I should. I have a lot of issues with food addiction too. It is just something to do when you are bored rather than for nourishment. You’re an inspiration!
Thank you Christy! I am really pumped – it IS SO HARD!! But, you can do it too! I was considered obese – so losing the pounds is definitely a good thing for my health.
I eat because I’m bored. So now when I’m hungry I craft – it’s actually working! I got a SMASH book and I’ve been adding things in there now ๐
You go girl! I’m so proud of you and the effort that you’re making! I know how hard it is to lose weight and keep it off… I’ve been struggling with it my whole life. You’re inspiring me to work even harder ๐
Thanks Jennifer – you can totally do it! And, yeah. It’s quite the struggle. But I feel like each day I get stronger and more in control ๐ Let’s do this together friend!
