I started making holiday cookies with Wyatt for the first time when he was just over 7 months old. Every Christmas we make cookies, it’s just our thing. Last year Levi was just two months old and was unable to participate but this year, this year he was right in the icing and sprinkles and Toll House Filled Morsels. And it was magical.

Toll House Filled Morsels are just amazing. We love the Milk Chocolate Morsels with Peanut Butter Filling they are the perfect, easy way to change up a classic recipe. They’re the perfect size for little hands and are just so much fun to “push” into the dough pointy side down.

We rolled out store-bought dough, got out all of our fixin’s and got to work. Making cookies is such a great sensory activity for little ones. Grasping small sprinkles or chips and pushing them gently into the dough is a great way for them to play and create something perfect. My favorite part about making cookies with the boys is watching their sweet little faces. Wyatt was so determined this year, so exact with his placement. His little brow crinkled as he imagined where his decoration would go next, it was so so funny.

Levi was crazy and squealed the whole time. He was so overcome with excitement (and probably had a little sugar buzz). He played with sprinkes, smushed the cookies, and watched Wyatt as he played. It was such a wonderful experience to be able to do this with both boys this year at the table. I love little moments like this, just when we’re together laughing with the dim lights of the Christmas tree glowing in the background, I look forward to this time so much each year. And it fills my heart to stand holding a sweet cookie that my little ones decorated with little candies and little icing finger smudges. I just want to keep it forever.

The boys really enjoy these cute reindeer cookies. When your cookies are fresh out of the oven, break a pretzel in half and push into the cookie. Use two Nestle Toll House DelightFulls as the eyes and top with icing, then finish it off with a red candy for a nose. And there ya go – your own little (simple & easy-to-make) reindeer!
