โLive in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.โ — Ralph Waldo Emerson
Lately, I’ve been thinking about what really matters. The daily relationships I have, moments I cherish, etc. I’ve really been trying to work my hardest to create lasting memories for my little family. I have two instant cameras stashed around the house so I am able to capture the boys when they’re being adorable, I’ve been planning little day trips to fun places we can explore together, and I’ve just been wanting to do everything with my little ones lately.
Life is all about your experiences, and I want to give my boys everything. We’ve been reading more books, playing in the snow, and visiting fun places. I’ve learned to relax and let them explore new places – instead of hovering over them watching their every move, and man, do they love the freedom!
They are starting to transform into such amazing young boys, and I feel so blessed to be able to watch them learn and grow each day. Levi is just the sweetest little nugget, ever. He loves giving kisses, loves following around his brother, and is obsessed with Llama Llama books. Wyatt is repeating everything, starting to READ, and is loving the snow!
I’m also finding that putting time back into myself has made a world of difference. I’ve been exercising at the gym a few times a week, eating better, and treating myself to spa nights at our house. Just taking a few minutes to change my nail color gives me so much confidence and makes me feel great! That is something I wasn’t doing before – I was putting everyone else before me and wasn’t scheduling a single minute of free time for myself. And, that just can’t happen. Everyone needs that “me” time.
And even though our days are usually pretty busy, I wouldn’t change a thing. Because every moment with these precious little souls means THE WORLD to me. And, William and I can always sleep later!
I like to take the kids traveling when I can. It’s so much fun to watch them experience things for the first time.
I love spending time with the family doing absolutely nothing. NOTHING! My husband and I are so busy, sometimes the best bonding time is just napping with the boys. They’re little Snorlaxes anyway.
You are doing a great job spending time with your boys! My boys are 23 and 15…my daughter just turned 8. The time goes by in a blink…even though it seems along the way like some days would last forever..they end and so does everything else..SO play while you can, and hug and sing and dance and travel and throw snowballs. I don’t have any regrets about my boys growing up because we had so many good times and spent a lot of time together! …we still do…(well, not as much with girlfriends in the pic…but that’s another story that you don’t even want to think about right now! ) lol. PS..Your sons are adorable!! xo Diane
I love traveling new places with my family. Getting out of our comfort zone always helps us reconnect and figure out what we really enjoy!
My favorite way to spend time with my family is probably just sitting together watching tv, playing games, or just talking. It is super important to me.
Any time I can spend with my family is time well spent. I always look forward to it.
I feel blessed to be able to take my kids Italy (to visit family) every summer for two months (I am teacher so I haev the summers off!). Life is SO busy year-round and I hate the fact that time literally flies by so I thoroughly appreciate that special time I have with my kids!!
What a lovely family. We love skiing as a family: it is one of my favorite ways to spend some family time
Every parent is nodding in agreement about wanting to give our kids everything. I so agree as well. ๐ AND loving the MSU sweatshirt…go Spartans. ๐
The first picture has such a cute shirt, “Made of Awesome.” That’s really adorable!
I think it’s really important to evaluate what’s in our life and to keep things in perspective. I think you’re doing an awesome job!
Choking poolside!!! Sounds so simple but we all just love it!!! So much fun!
Chilling**** omg hate typos -_-
I love travel and movies as they keep us entertained… Whatever works is what folks should do.. I love your photos. ๐
These are some great pictures of your family. I definitely want to continue to make spending time with mine more a priority.
I like spending time with the family going shopping, seeing movies and going on vacations best. Our daughter is almost 18 and has work, school and friends, so we don’t get to spend as much time as we would like to with her anymore, though. So we try to make it quality time when we do.
We love to bake a bunch of treats and watch movies. It is always great when we get to spend the day together. My kids are teenagers now and are not often home.
My son is a teenager now, so it seems I have less and less time with him. Any time I have with him is special but I love seeing him play baseball and seeing the happiness he gets from it.
We do a lot of things as a family, but day in and day out, cooking dinner with the kids is always a great thing. They love helping to make the meal and then we all sit down as a family and enjoy it. Sometimes it’s crazy and not really edible, but it’s always fun.
I love nothing days. Days spent playing in sheet forts and watching movies that I loved growing up. Indoor “cook outs” {we cook standard cookout foods and eat on the floor, lol} and jigsaw puzzles. I’m easy to please ๐
I really love just just watching our kids play. Just taking them to the park and watching their bond in action is amazing! My husband and I get in on the action and pretend to be the “monster” chasing them around the park. Good times.
