A huge thanks to Mohawk Home for sponsoring today’s post!
Hi, friends!
Hope you’re having a great day so far! As you may know, we purchased our first home back in December and officially moved in right before Christmas. One of my favorite things about this house was the formal dining space, not because we were going to actually use it for formal dining, but because it was the perfect space for a playroom!
Here is the space before we moved into the home:
I love that it has a BIG window because it brings in lots of natural light and it’s great for when the boys want to take a peek outside to see what the weather is like, or just to spy on the neighbors ๐
And here’s a peak at our playroom now:
Most of the items pictured were moved over from our old house. The only thing that is new is the Lego table I made (more on that later!) and the gorgeous area rug that fills the space. I started browsing online and fell in love with the Tempe Diamond Sand Cream Rectangular rug from Mohawk Home. I loved that it was neutral, plush, and felt like the perfect fit for our boy’s playroom. We’ve owned (and still own) many Mohawk rugs, so I know the quality and durability is amazing.
I wanted the whole playroom to feel fun, and I think we’ve definitely accomplished that!
The boys are constantly snuggling up on the rug. Wyatt pulls all of the pillows off of the couch, grabs his blanket and lovies, and sets up camp right in the middle of the rug. Seriously, this happens at least once a day around here. And did I mention the rug is super-easy to clean? My kiddos are messy, and we also have two cats and two dogs, but I’m telling you — not a problem. This rug (and every other Mohawk Rug i’ve ever owned) clean up perfectly.
Our Playroom Rug Checklist:
- Easy to clean (because we all know it’s going to encounter spills and messes)
- Soft, comfortable (for cozy book reading and playing!)
- Durable, can withstand lots of playtime
- Fits the decor of the room
This rug is so plush, I wish you could feel it! Here is Wyatt and his bunny “sleeping” on the rug ๐
So, that’s it — there is our playroom! It’s far from done, but we’re slowly adding things in, moving them around, and finding out a way to make the area work the best for our family. I’d love to replace the couch, add in more wall decor, and figure out more organization (the storage ottoman under the window has been a life-saver).
That is one amazing playroom! I love all the space, and I think it came out wonderfully. I’m digging the rug!
That looks beautiful as it is right now. I love the area rug. The color blends perfectly with the hardwood floor. I can’t wait to see what other improvements you’d add to your playroom. Keep us posted!
What a fantastic playroom! I love how comfy that rug looks. The room looks like such a comfy place to play.
What a great looking rug!! Everyone wants hardwood these days and I know they are easier to clean, but a rug is a must to make a room comfortable and inviting!
I am loving that rug! Your play space turned out so cute. All the decor and the “Things” storage ..super cute. Legos are still my favorite thing to play with ๐
I love how the room turned out. It looks so cozy and comfortable. Nice rug!
What a lovely playroom, he is looking like he enjoys it. That LEGO table looks like so much fun!
What a gorgeous rug and a fun play room!! I would love to have something like this when I have kids one day!
This is a great playroom for the kids and the rug you picked is perfect for it. It does indeed look comfy enough to sleep on too. Mohawk rugs are awesome gorgeous rugs. I am looking at getting one for my living room very soon here. Thanks for sharing this great playroom.
That’s a very beautiful playroom! I’m planning on doing this once my husband and I get a house. We’ve been looking around but haven’t found the right one yet. I think this will be exciting making a playroom for my girls.
I love this playroom setup! It looks so neat and organized with a space for everything to go! Super cute!
That is indeed a very beautiful rug! It fits perfectly in your playroom. We’ve been hunting for the perfect rug for our living room but haven’t really seen any yet. I’m going to check out your link!
My favorite part would be the window as well!! What a great way to naturally light the room, looks like a fun room.
I love your playroom. It is perfect. I kinda wish we had a playroom for my youngest son. He drags his toys every where.
Congrats on your new home. I know you’re going to enjoy decorating the new space. I dont’ need a playroom rug just yet but hoping soon. ๐
What a cute room! Love the rug and the map of the states, especially. Looks perfect for the little ones!
That’s a cool rug. I love the pattern and color, a great additional to any rooms. Love your new house!
